‘No UFO’, named after Model 500’s landmark 1985 Detroit techno track ‘No UFO’s’, is a display typeface inspired by the iconic instruments that shaped techno and house music. It has three weights—909, 808, and 303. The letterforms for each weight are inspired by the sounds created by Roland’s TR-909 and TR-808 drum machines, and the TB-303 bass synthesiser. 

‘No UFO’ is a monospaced typeface, designed so that the individual weights can be read separately, or overlaid using different colours or outlines. Each weight also has the potential to be legible when layered with disparate text.
